I want to SCREAM...!
I want phone systems to work the way they are supposed to work.
When I call customer service at my local utility company, my phone company or
my credit card company, a disembodied computer voice
invariably instructs me to key in my account number in order to "Speed Up Service".
When a live customer support person eventually comes on the line to talk to me
about my account, they practically never have my account number on their screen.
So they ask me for my account number again.
Instead of speeding things up, the company's account entering process
is actually slowing service down.
Next time you get a live customer support person on the phone and this has
happened to you, yell at them about it. Complain. Maybe if enough of us get
angry, they will actually make that feature work.
